How to read the calendar
The calendar tells you when risk is scheduled. Your job is to understand what the release changes—and wait for the price reaction instead of guessing the number.
Interest-rate decisions, the FOMC statement and the Fed chair press conference can reprice the dollar, Treasury yields, Bitcoin and gold within minutes.
A hotter-than-expected CPI can push rate expectations higher and pressure risk assets. A softer print can improve liquidity expectations—but the market reaction depends on positioning.
PPI offers an earlier read on pipeline inflation. It matters most when markets are debating whether inflation is cooling fast enough for the Fed to ease.
Nonfarm payrolls, unemployment and jobless claims change the rate outlook. Strong data can lift the dollar; weak data can revive rate-cut expectations and risk appetite.
Before a high-impact release: mark your BTC levels, note the market expectation, reduce unnecessary exposure, and define what confirmation would change your bias. The first candle after the news is often liquidity—not a signal.
